New Owners of Gaming World!!!

Zynga is acquired by Rockstar Games parent company

Take-Two Interactive & Microsoft acquires Activision Blizzard

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games and 2K Games, two well-known developers in the computer game world, is reportedly preparing to be new owner of Zynga, a well-known social game developer, for $ 12.7 billion. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the first half of 2023 as a collection of cash and shares.

As mentioned earlier, with the purchase of Zynga by Take-Two Interactive for a hefty sum,
we can see the company's focus on the mobile games market. Take-Two Interactive is the owner of Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, BioShock, Borderlands, and NBA 2K, some of the most popular computer game franchises in the planet.

Zynga is not a company like that. These are the developers of the FarmVille game that we all played for hours on Facebook years ago. They are also the owners of the popular game Words With Friends. Zynga is also set to launch Revamp, a game like Among Us for Snapchat in the near future.

By combining Zynga's expertise in mobile and next generation platforms and the capabilities and intellectual property of Take-Two Interactive, we will be able to further our mission of connecting the world through computer games, ”said Frank Gibeau, CEO of Zynga. Commenting on the purchase.

Take-Two Interactive acquires Zynga for $ 12.7 billion, the largest company in video game history. That's more than Microsoft bought Bethesda for $ 7.5 billion last March, and Tencent bought a majority stake in Supercell for $ 8.57 billion.

 MEANWHILE,

Microsoft has taken over Activision, the company that owns the most popular computer games, such as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft and Diablo. The deal is worth $ 68.7 billion. That's a whopping $ 26 billion that Microsoft paid to buy LinkedIn in 2016. It is reported that this is the largest investment made by Microsoft in the field of computer games. Microsoft has announced that it will become the third largest computer game company in the world in terms of revenue after the completion of this transaction, after Tencent and Sony.

Microsoft plans to add more Activision games to the Xbox Game Pass, a popular subscription service, once the deal is finalized. Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft's computer games division at Microsoft, has announced that it hopes to add franchises such as Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch, Call of Duty, and Candy Crush to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass soon after acquiring Activision.

Xbox Game Pass currently has over 25 million subscribers, and we can expect Microsoft to continue to strengthen its subscription service by purchasing various studios.

Microsoft's massive Activision Blizzard deal comes nearly a year after the company bought Bethesda parent company ZeniMax Media for $ 7.5 billion. Following the acquisition, Microsoft's number of first-party Xbox game studios increased to 23, which added to Xbox Game Pass's.

Microsoft plans to complete the Activision Blizzard deal in fiscal 2023. This means that it will not be fully approved for at least 18 months, due to the fact that a large studio such as Activision Blizzard operates in a number of markets and obtaining regulatory approval in all of those countries is a complex and time consuming process.
